Made to order means your piece is built to your specifications from the start: your metal choice, your ring size, and in many cases your stone selection. Nothing is pulled from a shelf. Timeline depends on the piece. A curated selection from existing sourced inventory can be ready in about one week. A custom piece built to a new design typically takes four to eight weeks from the approved CAD design. A piece involving specialty sourcing, such as an antique diamond or a rare fancy-colored stone, may take longer. We set clear expectations from the first call.

When your piece is complete, Dave brings it to you. Not a courier. Not a tracked box. Dave, in person, at your home, your office, or anywhere that makes sense for you, at a time you both agree on. He presents the piece, answers any questions, and makes sure everything is exactly right before he leaves. This is how we have always done it. It is part of the service, not an add-on.

Most people do not know their ring size. This is normal and easy to work around. Dave can guide you on how to measure at home, or he can bring a ring sizer to the delivery. For engagement ring purchases where the ring is a surprise, he can advise on how to estimate size from an existing ring the recipient wears, or size it to the most common size and resize after the proposal. If the ring requires resizing after delivery, Dave handles that.

A lab-grown diamond is physically, chemically, and optically identical to a natural diamond. Both are carbon, in the same crystalline structure, with the same hardness and the same appearance. A gemologist cannot tell them apart without laboratory equipment. The difference is origin: a natural diamond formed underground over billions of years. A lab-grown diamond was grown in a controlled environment over several weeks. Lab-grown diamonds cost significantly less than natural diamonds of the same grade. The price difference for the same carat weight and quality can be 60 to 90 percent depending on the stone. Natural diamonds hold their resale value better than lab-grown diamonds. We explain both sides clearly and let you decide. There is no correct answer, and we do not push in either direction.

Yes, in most cases. If you see a piece in the catalog and want a different metal, a different diamond type, or a different size, those are straightforward adjustments we handle in consultation. The piece is made to order anyway. If you want to substantially redesign a piece, the answer is still yes, but that becomes a custom design conversation rather than a catalog variation. Both paths start the same way: a call with Dave.

Our AI design tool lets you explore ring styles, shapes, and settings visually before a consultation. You can describe or adjust what you are imagining and see it rendered in real time. The AI designs are conceptual starting points. Dave reviews what you generate and uses it as a conversation input during your consultation. From there he advises on what is achievable, what looks better in practice than on a screen, and how to refine the concept before any CAD work begins. The AI tool generates ideas. Dave translates ideas into pieces that can actually be made and worn.

Made-to-order pieces are not returnable. This is standard in custom jewelry: a piece built to your specifications cannot be resold as-is to another buyer. What we do offer: if something is wrong with the piece as built, we fix it. If there is a quality issue, we resolve it. If the ring size needs adjustment, Dave handles the resize. We are transparent about this before any purchase is made. There are no surprises in the return policy because we talk through every detail before anything is built.

Group orders are for multiples of the same piece: a business purchasing multiple pieces for a gift program, a wedding party ordering coordinated jewelry, or another volume situation. Group orders receive pricing that reflects the scale of the order. They require a single point of contact for the group and a consolidated delivery. Dave handles group orders the same way as individual orders: one conversation, clear specs, and delivered in person. If you are considering a group order, the first step is a call to discuss quantities, timeline, and what the pieces will be.

Standard options: 14K yellow gold, 14K white gold, 14K rose gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K white gold, 18K rose gold, and platinum. The difference between 14K and 18K: 14K contains a higher percentage of alloy metals and is slightly harder and more durable for daily wear. 18K has more pure gold content, is softer, and has a slightly richer color in yellow gold. Platinum is the densest and most durable option. It does not require rhodium plating to maintain its white color and develops a patina over time that many clients prefer. We discuss metal choice during the consultation based on how the piece will be worn, what color metals the person already wears, and the design requirements of the specific piece.

There is no posted minimum. In practice, engagement rings tend to start in the $2,000 to $4,000 range for lab-grown diamond options and go from there based on carat, metal, and complexity. Natural diamond pieces typically start higher. The more useful question is: what is the right piece for your person and your situation? That question has a different answer for every client. Dave asks it first.

A consultation is a call. Usually 20 to 30 minutes. Dave asks about the person you are buying for, the occasion, what you are imagining, and your timeline and budget range. He listens first and advises second. By the end of the call, most clients have a clear direction they did not have at the start. There is no commitment on the call. No purchase is made during the consultation. It is just a conversation. The consultation happens remotely, at a time that works for both of you.

Yes. Consultations are remote. Dave can work with clients anywhere. In-person delivery is the standard for South Florida clients. For clients outside the area, we discuss delivery options during the consultation based on the piece and your preference.

Dave responds personally within one business day to set up a call. The call is typically 20 to 30 minutes, remote, and requires no preparation on your part. Bring whatever you have: a shape preference, a budget range, a photo of something you liked, or nothing at all. Starting with a vague idea is completely normal.
